I took this hike to find one of these guys, and this fellow was the only one to oblige me. I got several pictures of him before he finally got full and flew away.

This is also my most edited image yet. Since it was so dark I had a hard time getting rid of alot of the noize, but it worked out alright in the end.

PP:
Created layers for the Background, Bird/Hand, and then one for just the hand.

1)In the BG I neat-imaged, then used a gaussian blur to get rid of most of the rest of the artifacts.

2)For the bird/hand I neat-imaged, use Unsharp Mask, and then did a little dodging/burning on the bright areas.

3)Then for just the hand I adjusted the brightness a little.

4)In the end I adjusted levels and saturation a little. Then resized for web and re-sharpened with USM.

I kind of think I over-edited it, but we'll see.

Beautiful detail on the bird and good DOF on the hand/background. I agree that it could be cropped a bit more closely so as to eliminatthe unsupporting elments of the shot. Great capture all in all, and makes minor flaws seem inconsequential becuase of the delicate nature of the photograph. Nice work.

Nice shot, however to me the brightness of the footpath distracts from the bird

Nice picture. I think that having the whole hand in the photo would help it out more.

Great capture. . . literally. Could you have cropped more off the top to bring the focus to the bird in the hand? Still gets an 8 BOL

Great photo but needs cropping to landscape orientation.

I don't usually like to see hands in these types of pics, but in this case I quite like it.9

This is awesome!!!!! I love how your hand gives you the perspective of how small this little fellow is. Great job!

Adorable. I would have tried cropping it square, or portrait, but it's great this way too. Terrific detail and catchlight in the eye. 8

How cute. I like the introduction of the human hand in the photo. Nice.

Wonderful camp robber, only this that might bring your shot down to much space above the bird. I like it though
