Sorry... didnt score this well.... the following is jmo.....
I dont think the composition is good... so ya have a triangle in there.... but the birds are so far apart that you have to hunt for the triangle... secondly... although I do appreciate a good sillhouette... I dont think it works well here...would rather see some detail in the birds.... it is pretty grainy and the sky is uninteresting to me... in short, there is no WOW factor here. I mean no disrespect... we all have our own opinions.... and I normally prefer to remain silent rather than give a critique like I just gave you.... I hate to say something negative or hurt someone's feelings.... |

Looks like I gave it a six - much more generous than my DPC colleagues. Sorry no comments, but you already have that note from my mom. |

I did vote but didn't comment on many. On seeing this again the birds form a nice triangle keeping the viewer peering around the image. I realize so as not to blow the sky the birds turned out in silhouette but I feel that more detail in the birds would give it more impact.
If the image was shot in RAW and there is some detail in the birds you could try blending two exposures to increase the detail in the birds. |

sorry vtruan..i sneaked a peek at all the bird photos but i didnt vote or comment on a single one. it is a good photo but i would have cropped out the bottom two birds...they are competing with the top two for center of attention IMHO ;o) |

Wow! 0 comments! (Ok. and I'm guilty, too.)
For me, it was the crop. I really just want to see the 2 birds closest to the top, the others don't add much....or else, there needs to be more space for them all to play.
Swallows are wonderful birds! Probably in the top 10 favorites of all time. They are also exceedingly difficult to capture! I usually just give up and watch them. These lack the deep scissored tail...are you certain they're swallows?
Perhaps you could put a comment on your photog notes...I'm curious what this image means to you. |
