Took this shot at the Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton, New Brunswick, when I went to Moncton for Easter. I went to the zoo with fellow DPCer Refracted. Shot 299 shots. What a hoot.

The sky was overcast. The white sky and the narrow DOF helped to blur out the Chain Link fence in back. I had to shoot between the links of the fence in front too. The background is a bit harsh, but it's better than having the fence as a background.

Very cliche but very cool IMO. Always wanted a shot like this.

My first submission with my new Canon 10D. Woo hoo!

Shot with my Canon 75-300mm IS @ 265mm.

Need more contrast in the sky to really capture the full effect of this majestic bird, especially with the head being so white. Great capture though.

Great shot of a great bird but lose points for animal in captivity! I love to see these in the wild, around here I only see one or two a year but out east there are lots.

nicely done, although the rail in the background distracts and i wish there could have been more contrast between the head and the background. good focus and detail, however.

Nice, but the head loses impact against the brightly-lit sky. A darker background would have worked much better (but difficult if there isn't one :-)

Exposure is good. To get even more impact the image could have been cropped closer around the head on all sides except the left or more of the body could be included to balance the amount of sky.

Cracking shot - the title hits it bang-on too. Lovely colours throughout.

Lovely bird. Too bad the sky wasn't blue.

The detail and quality on this is great. My favorite bird. I just wish the background was a darker color.

Fine portrait. Imho, the image would be stronger if you edit out the bar behind him. Would have liked to see a tad more definition in some of the browns. 9 Journey

Nice closeup. Pity about the bar behind the eagle - in my thinking, the picture could be better without it, or with something more than just that portion of the bar.

Great shot of Mr. Eagle. I saw one a few weekends ago here in Prince Edward Island, Canada but by the time I got my camera ready he was gone. It's very rare to see one around here. You have to be quick when you do. Good luck in the challenge.
