a little simple tweaking would have made this photo.
In hue/saturation - desat the yellow field completely. UP the brightness +12, contrast +44 - whole different image right?
I would have shown a little more of the candle also. You captured a great smoke pattern, it really is a shame we can only see half of it. |

Knew there'd be a few candle shots in this one. This approach didn't occur to me though. I like it, however I'd like it better if the candle wasn't cropped so close to the bottom. |

Other than the candle feeling a bit too cropped off at the bottom I think this is fantastic! Well.. actually if there was any way to highlight just the smoke with a strategically placed light source I think that'd be the only other thing that'd make the image better. Even though the darkness is what is being portrayed a smidge more light (on the smoke) would give just a nice highlight I think. I gave a 7 |

The smoke looks great. I don't know whether the empty space to the left helps for your composition, but I do get the idea of darkness. 9. |
