What I wanted to say is war should be obsolete. All the people that are fighting are someone's child. I found the picture on one of my walks at work and decided to do something with it.

Score might be slammed because it is about people and that's not allowed and also it's political which doesn't go over to well. I predict it will get beat up score wise.

I'm surprised so few comments, Pat and at the score. This was one of my highest photos. It was stark and powerful and emotional - very photo journalistic. I "got it" maybe a lot didn't - sometimes we don't spend enough time on each image for our brains to tick over, especially in a large challenge.
I like the set up you made, i found the twigs and other business to be approriate, since war is a noiisy messy place, not peaceful and unclutteres at all.
The one thing that did bother me was that the camera was focused on the toy soilder to the left of the "real" soilder. I would have liked the little guy with the gun pointing to the photo to be the one that was most sharp. The gun was your leading line, so thats where i wanted the crispness to be.
Those voters with no cams will do it to you every time ;)

Responding to your request for "brutal honesty":

I "got it" when I saw your image. I knew you referring to war as obsolete (or wishing it obsolete, rather). I just thougth it was a bit messy with the extra "little green men", twigs, and general flotsam. I was not offended or put off by the concept in the slightest.

to me, this shot is awsome but it seems that the main subject is not on the toy soldiers but on the picture of the human soldier. Great mood here though.
