You probably got many comments already about that, but your picture is really too small. It's too bad because it seems like a nice picture that would have meet the challenge. |

Well, thats a lot of lines, thats for sure. the image is too small though. |

Well you certainly accomplished finding some lines! My take is that the lines lead the viewer out of the photo, though, instead of towards a subject per se. Also suggest clicking LEARN > TUTORIAL > "Preparing Photo for DPCHALLENGE" by EddyG... it helped me figure out how to get my challenge photos as large as they should be. Good luck! (4) |

This photo is way too small to see any details. Be sure and size it to 640 by (whatever) when uploading for these contests.
The lines don't seem to be leading your eyes anywhere. The actually seem to detract. This would be better if the photo was taken with the grain instead of against it, so the lines would lead to your focal subject (whatever that would be).

Picture is too small to see enough detail. There's a very good tutorial on resizing for these challenges under 'Learn' |

This looks like it could be an interesting image, but it really is too small. |

Great Idea and comp. Nice job on the theme too! However, you should read the tutorial on sizing your image as this seriously detracts from the shot. |

You should have the image bigger... You will get scored down for having it so small and that´s a pitty |

This could have been a good photo but you are probably entering a challenge for the first time and being voted down for size, better luck next time.. |

Please try to use all the pixels available to you, else I can't see the detail that would let me vote your photo with a higher score. |

This is probably a better photo than what it will score for two reasons. One, it's very small, and two, the lines aren't very leading as much as they are the main subject. |

I am sure you have been told to read about how to make your photo ready for the site. |

Needs a larger View, 640 px on the long side |

Too small, imho. You're probably going to get hit pretty hard for that. |

so small, would like to see more of it |

Leading lines or curves generally have two purposes. One is to lead the viewer into the scene. The other is to lead you toward the main subject. It is most effective if they come in from the lower left because that is the natural direction humans visually scan a picture so easiest to pick up.
Your lines are a major element of the composition but most do not lead the viewer anywhere. |

nice picture but pity it's so small |

A pity that the picture is so small. It is very difficult to make out the details. |

way too small a pic - give us the full 640 so we can see better. These lines do not take you anywhere as they all lead out of frame. Turn 60 to 90 degrees and shoot again so we follow the lines. |

|

why is the picture so small? |
|
|

This has different lines, yet if I could see more detail, I could know more of what intrigues me about the patterns here. If you have the ability, you should make the image as large as the rules allow. If your camera doesn't have enough resolution, you might consider different subjects. |

this is a tough one. Its small, which doesn't help me judge focus. the leading lines lead out of the picture rather than through or to something. Like the composition. Good luck in the challenge! |

I see the lines to meet the challenge, however the picture is way too small to see much and appears very out of focus. |

This would probably look better if it was not so small. |

very cool. reminds me of polaroid transfer technique. the lines are just leading side to side, but overall i like the composition, though not sure how it would look blown up. |

Interesting pattern you found to capture. To allow the viewer to see more detail it's best to use the full 640 pixel max and 150k file size max. |

too small to see - why submit a thumbnail |
|
|
06/27/2005 12:43:33 AM |
Your picture is quite small and hard to see any detail. Since the lines are horizontal thay really don't lead my vision into the picture at all. |
|
|
06/27/2005 12:32:04 AM |
Could be an interesting idea, but the photo you submitted is too small to tell |
|
|

Nice pic, but why so small? Should be larger IMHO. |
