Hi Gordon,
On behalf of the CC, let me say you did a fine job with this! Your dof is good, with lots of detail for the eyes to explore, yet there is a focal point running diagonally which works so well.
I like what you did with the duotoning. Very "steely blue/grey" and I can practically feel the cold metal. Effective choice!
Abstracts appeal to me, and this has that special quality that I appreciate so. Despite it's abstract quality, it fits the challenge with no doubt.
The little curve in the lower left, adds a really nice touch. I'm not even sure why, or how to express it, but somehow, because of the curve, it softens the whole. It's a slight artistic whimsie among all the hard-working steel. lol
Actually the image is filled with curves, perhaps that's part of the appeal. Anyway IT WORKS!!! lol
The border is appropriate, and binds the entire composition together.
Good job! :-)
Regards,
Grayce

Good composition and exposure. For more impact you could decrease the depth of field. |

Good macro but looks like maybe it`s been a bit over sharpened. Still a 7 |

Nice boarder, good shot, but feel the composition could have been improved if the chain was on the first or last cog, thus giving more of a cog pattern. Feel that you could also have benefited from a more diffused light which would have prevented the glare on the first to cog flanges. |

I like the choice of comp & color, along with the high contrast & sharpness. Emphasizes the metallic feel. Did you reverse this? I noticed the lettering is backward on the chain... |
