 Level - black to 5
Crop - lost some nice dark reds on the far right, but also lost the terry cloth corners

Basically an out of camera shot, no post processing

Stemmed shot glass filled with blue water
Spiral faceted water glass filled with red water
Bulb topped vase filled with green water

Blue water filled shot glass placed inside red water filled water glass which was placed inside green water filled vase. Glasses placed on top of clear glass, direct light beneath - 75 watt exposed bulb, white terry cloth with hole cut in it the size of the base of the vase to control the amount of glow around the bulb of the vase. Shot with camera directly above and very close.

I tried this with many different color combinations. When I saw the spirals from the water glass in the very first shot I knew I had to continue. All the colors you see here are exactly as they are on the original and can be clearly seen just when the glasses are sitting above the light. Post processing as described above - no sat, no hue, no color adjustments, no filters at all. When I went to school, we didn't have computers or Photoshop. If you wanted something to look a certain way, you had to create that look...that is what I did here.

Interesting colors, but lacking something that really holds my interest. I appreciate that the center of the subject is not dead center of the photo. I'm seeing that a LOT and most of the time it just doesn't work. Hard to tell what this is. A bottle maybe? The purple center doesn't appear to be in focus, nor does anything else in the photo, so it's all kind of a blurred circular thingy. I'm not a huge fan of abstracts, and this is no exception. Some will love it, but it's just not my cup of tea. I think a black border with a thin colored (red?) line would work here as well. ~Heather~
