Great DOF on the fly. The lighting is a little odd to me though - seems like maybe too much highlight? I would probably have cropped it a little differently, to make the fly not so dead-center, but it's still a great shot. I think maybe the lighting thing has to do with the odd green color of the background - it doesn't look natural. Anyway - enough of my babbling, still a very strong entry. 7 |

I can concur on the fact that it's very hairy! Nice capture with very crisp, sharp detail. Only thing I would have personally changed about it is cropping. I would have cropped the right and bottom more to bring the Bugger more composed on the right hand side of the photo, this way it would almost seem like he's trying to take a leap into the center of the frame from his little grassy springboard ;-) Still a great shot! |

I like this a lot. The background and leaf being almost the same color really bring the focus to the bee. His colors are nice and rich showing lots of detail. Great job! |

Nice color, focus and texture. Interesting perspective in a challenge full of simular shots. |

8 - This shot is very good. The only thing that I would change is the composition. I would crop some off the right so the subject was on the thirds line instead of centered. Still a great capture. |

wonderful shot in all ways. Did you also try a verticle crop, it might make an even better shot. You may get shot down for being too centered. |

I like his fuzzy little self. The minty green is a nice backdrop to his amber body color. Good detailing. I like the side view instead of the typical in your face shot. |

Nice. Love the sharpn focus on the bugger. Colors work well. Maybe a little stronger angle could have helped a little. Good luck! |

Good DOF. A bit too centered. Keep an eye for composition. Nice colors. |
