 This was taken with my 70-300 IS DO lens with a closeup +4 filter attached. Actually, this combination works very well (though not as well as a real macro lens would be). I think it might even work better than the extension tubes I bought--at least I ended up seleting this one rather than those.

Nice colors,but i am not that happy with the placement of the subect also it looks overshaprened to me..

Nice sharp picture. All those little hairs on your beetle really stand out! Nice placement of the beetle on the thirds lines - creates a sense of where he wants to go. Wish the background were darker or lighter so the beetle would "pop" more - he is blending in twith the background even with your nice use of narrow depth of focus.

Just a little too much light and could use a little more focus. Interesting perspective in a challenge full of simular shots.

8 - This is a great photo. Even a zoom/crop in more would be great, if possible. For me, better if the front leg and antenna were in focus too. The white 'hair' against the green 'metal' body looks very good. Would like to have seen it up closer.
