 Well, I was really in two minds about entering this one. There is a lot I like about it, but plenty I don't either. In the end I decided to go for it. So, here you are.

It's a basket ball hoop, taken from beneath, looking up. I like the circle frame, plus the inner circle where the wire netting comes together. I also like the sky - unusual for the UK ;-). I tried various depths of field, and for me this one worked best - despite the sharp (annoying) telephone line.

Shot taken with polariser. Processed in Bibble, with extra saturation and contrast. Sharpening and resize in PSE.

The wire and cloud seem a little distracting, but still a nice shot for something so simple.

You and I had the same idea...LOL. Good job on your submission. Although it isn't allowed in the challenge, it would better the picture to clone out the power line.

Nice composition, very geometric. Obviously the wire couldn't be avoided unfortunately. Cloud is nice addition but I feel like it looks too much like it was planned to be geometric like the rest of the picture, by almost wrapping itself around the rim. Everything else is so precise this would either need to be dead on or chaotic and not symmetrical to work best.

I love this. I took a similar picture and it was awful. You really captured the perfect sky color. The contrast of the cloud and the dark of the rim is a really good composition element.
