Nice Shot. I like how deep the tones of green in the background is. Clarity is great on the flower.

I like this picture, but I don't really see that it fits the challenge. This impression is embraced by your title, which instead of trying to make a tie to "Independence", discard its own relevance. I rate accordingly (5), but it is a wonderful flower photo.

Beautiful!! The lighting is perfect. Nice background. Focus couldn't be more perfect. I feel as if I could reach out and touch the petals. Good job!!

As photos of daylilies taken in-situ this one is a very nice example. It is helped along by the perfect DOF. Nice detail in the almost white petals. And I like the way you gave it plenty of space. (Looks like it could be Ice Carnival, and I can almost smell the perfume.)

It's truly a stunning image against the blackened background. I'm sure you'll get slams for the flower, but it's independence from any other blooms works for me. 7
