Congrats Cory. Looked like you were at the top of the pack all the way and so it went. Great capture. |

I think antelopes have straight black horns. Oh well, don't matter. Congrats! I'm glad I was there with you when you scored this shot.
Love,
Mom :^)
edit* If anyone is interested. I was right next to him with my camera and got this pic. Mine was handheld (vs Fetors Tripod) and I'm using a Rebel and Tamron lenses. Still not too bad. But you can see the superior detail with his shot.

I liked your photographer's comments (about not looking at the signs). My visits go like that, too:
Me: "Wow, hold on, I'm going to take a picture"
Wife: "What is it?"
Me: "I dunno, I just think it looks cool"
We have year-long Zoo passes and I still don't know what half the animals are in there. |

Great finish Cory. Congrats. I believe it's an Eland, the largest of the antelope family. The horns are a bit more twisted than any Eland I've seen though, so I'm not sure. |

Super-sharp and great background and dof. People seem to love spirals in photos, and so do I, so I think this will be a top finisher. Humorous too. Great job! [10] |

An interesting animal captured with good sharpness and color. The expression is ho-hum and I might have cropped it a bit more off-centered, but the outstanding DOF and bokeh really make this shot (I smell an expensive lens at work). The result is almost three-dimensional, and that will make it stand out from most of the other entries. |

Awsome pic. I love all the detain in the horns. Here's a photo that looks good to make a big poster in a living room. |

A noble image. I would have liked to have seen a bit more neck for the composition, but then the verical dimension would have been prohibitive. I think photographing these guys is problematic because of that. Excellent look and feel in this capture. |

Great capture. The tounge says it all. :OP I think the only thing I feel would make this better is if his left ear was turned out like the right one. Great job should be in the top ten. |

Since I am lacking in technical skills, I cannot give helpful comments. I am strictly a photo buff who is trying to improve, but as to telling you what is wrong or right, I am in no position to say. I am simply voting based on whether I like the picture or not. Sorry, maybe someday I will be able to give helpful advice |
