This is just a bowl of marbles I tipped over and added a ribbon to for interest. It was a big challenge for me to even attempt to light this and I must have washed that glass bowl 3 times! I still think I got smudges on it, and the combined colour of my room and the lights I used gave off so much of a red glow it was insane trying to fix it! :)

Played with colour balance and curves and cropped the baby.

Greetings from the Critique Club
Hello Pam, nice to meet you! *rofl*

Composition
I like that the composition is spilling into and not out of the page. So often these little things get ignored. I like that the spillage looks like grapes - only hanging the wrong way in this case - still cool. :) Also - you cut off the end of the glass. Intent or space?

Color
Red tint makes this elegant - so does the ribbon. Your marbles don't lend much in colors, but they do contrast with your bg.

Focus
A bit soft, but I don't think that's a problem. I disagree that it's tack sharp, but that's just me.

Lighting
Beautiful, perfect lighting all except the base of the glass where it meets the neck. Hard to eliminate though.

Subject matter
Glass, glass, all around, but not a drop to drink (from). I like the marbles spilling, instead of some liquid - it gives the feel of something out of the ordinary. It's very nice!

Overall
You shot this on your bed? Why wasn't I there?

You SHOULD be proud of this shot (and the 5.5 score isn't indicative of this shot).

Matt

Sharp focus, beautiful light and the ribbon just caps it off. Excellent shot.

Love the sort of champagne implication the marbles provide. This is one of the few pictures that feels like it's telling a story and also represents glass extremely well. Great work!

Use of the glass marbles (and the way they sort of spill out of the glass) is very nice. Colors complement well... --9

Nice composition, the ribbon adds a nice touch of color. The light and thus the background is a little pink/warm. Get the background white-white and bump the contraxt a little.

Coloured glass beads may have worked better here. I like the idea and the ribbon is nice, but an amber or cobalt set of beads would be more exciting.

Nice shot, I love the composition, especially the inclusion of the ribbon.

This is one of the better pictures featuring a wine glass. The marbles give an element to think about, whilst the ribbon provides some contrast.

Overly perfected, too commercial. Lacks humanity (IMO).
