I was very lucky with this combination of daisies and ferns considering the challenge. The daisies provide mainly purple and orange while the ferns give a green color and bring some interest to the background.

I used a +2 close up lens and maximum aperture (that is f/14 for my little camera :)) to get the greatest DOF as possible so the viewer can make out the ferns instead of a green blur. The photo was taken during a semi-cloudy morning; this gave a very nice light.

The thing I don't like is the pollen on the flower. This disturbs the image a little. Unfortunately I noticed this when I viewed the image on my computer, so it was too late to be corrected. As spot editing is not allowed I had to leave it in the photo :(. If you want to see a clean version, please visit my website at //masterofgames.xs4all.nl

I'm looking forward how this picture will do in the challenge. It can't do any worse than my transportation or glass picture (I hope ;)).

Hey there from the CC Club ...

this is a very nice shot - especially for the camera that was used and the techinique that you executed :)
the colors are nice and vivid and purplue and green certainly are secondary colors .. so you definitly met the challenge.
the composition of the image also works very well .. i do like the fact that the background isnt totally blurry - making out the fern leaves works really well and also leads the eye towards the flower in the left corner ... the clarity and detail along the petals and inner part of the flower is very good .. its sometimes hard with that cam .. i have one too - but you mastered it pretty well :)
i think the pollen actually sets off the other colors nicely .. adds an extra kick to the image - if that makes any sense :)
keep up the good work!

This is a very simple shot, and lovely. The contrast between the purple and green is quite striking.

Colors are lovely. Composition is very good. The only detraction for me is the soft focus on the subject.

Love the sharp focus on the flower, soft focus on the ferns in the background. Luminous color.

One of the better composed flower pics. Nice colors, but maybe a tad over-sharpened?

Lovely shot. The composition is great, but what really strikes me is the perfect DoF. The ferns are nicely blurred yet you can still see the jagged edges. Great stuff.
The big spot of pollen near the center of the frame is annoying the frell out of me - did you not think to clean it off? ; )
Great shot, well done.

Nice focus on the central part of the flower. For exposure, some of the petals seem overexposed. For composition I think this image would work better is some of the fern was cropped on the right. This would work since the main subject is the centre of the flower and not the entire flower (IMO).
