Thanks for the votes and comments folks. It's been since January 2005 that I have scored this well on a challenge. I too thought it would have finished a bit higher in teh standings, but I am very pleased with the results. Some mentioned that they didn't like the colour of the light. Well, that's its real colour and I didn't mess with that part of the image at all. Looking back now, I probably could have tried for longer exposures to brighten up the water and foreground, but I think the lighthouse light would have become overpowering. |

Congrats on your finish. Was hoping for this one to come in higher - was one of my faves. |

I'm not sure what time of day this was taken, but I wonder if just after sunrise or just before sunset would have been better? There seems to be a lot of detail lost since it is so dark. Also, the green of the lighthouse really overpowers the photo for me. |

'8' - Nice shot. Criticism (with the caveat I know squat about long exposures) ; I keep viewing this photo with the lighthouse 'out' (using my hand in front of eye to crop) and, although I do like the unusual green, and its combination with the blue, for me, this would be a better photograph without the lighthouse. I like it as is but in my opinion, it would give it a more 'mysterious' feel with just the 'dark rocks' and the foggy sea. An overall nice 'feel' to this photograph - the only other criticism would be that I would like to have seen it larger (but yes I know difficult with the horizontal angle and width constraints for the Challenge). |

This fulfills the definition of this challenge. It is also a beautiful shot, the subtle blues making it a moody shot. 10. |

This is very nice. Perhaps a bit dark, but I like the effect. |

It's a real shame that light is green - kinda kills the mystical feel here, Still I like this. 7 |

Well done. Almost ghost like water and the green light works very well in this photo as I find it adds a certain uniquesness to it. well done and good luck in this challenge. <10> |

I really like the texture of the rock and the sea. The bright intense green is too strong for me. Maybe you could selectively desaturate it a little bit. |

Very cool - just one nit-picking titem. The lighthouse looks crooked (leaning to the left). |

very beautiful image. The only thing that kind of bothers me is the color of the light in coming from the lighthouse. It kinda seems to go against the cool, serene, dreamy feel of the photo. |

Very moody!! You can almost imagine the ghost ship that didn't see the light in the fog until it was too late. Very good work on this photo. |

Very nice earie look. I really like how the fog and the long exposure affected the light. Good job. |

I don't know if that light is natural or not but it sure looks overdone to me! wow how do I judge? well, I guess wether it's natural or not I don't really like the effect and if it was natural I would have toned it down some. Ok- so, if not for the light a 9 or 10 but for now an 8. Such a superb image other than that!!! when I scroll down (so as to 'crop') it's just enchanting! |
