Ah, I know all about the handheld lighting biz. But it pays off to put in the effort, and it's nice to be rewarded by the voters for it. I like this picture, in part because I have such a hard time understanding the whole (even when I can make out the parts just fine), because the materials involved and their apparent relationships to each other just dazzles my mind. Thanks for all the comments, they're what make the challenge thing!
Some mention my background showing, darn! I thought it was pitch-black while editing. Think I need a new monitor. I have this one set at brightest already.
For those who wonder how it was done: glass is on its side, arranged the stones, tried to make them a bit 3D, rotate in PS. It is a very simple idea. |

This shot is a little too abstract for my tast. The colors don't quite look right in the glass. However, I would still like to know how ya did it!

This is not only perfect for the challenge but a beautiful image! Love the blue to aqua tones. This is simply stunning. 10 |

My monitor needed a little calibration when I first saw this, so I know how you did it (I could see the fabric) but my screen is working properly now and I can see the full effect. Very clever and I hope it does well :-) |

I'm trying to think of how you did this, and I can't really be sure, thought I'd guess that the glass pebbles are on some kind of flat surface. I don't really know what the illusion is, but it looks weird and I like it, so I'm giving it a 7 anyway. I think that this image may have benefited from a wider angle lens, to get more perspective on the stones (front larger, back smaller), which would make the appearance of motion stronger. |

Rocks are going outside of the glass rather than inside. Nice idea though. |

I like this and look forward to the reveal. just one slight nag, the border touched the top stone and is a little distracting |

great image. I wish the entire glass was in view but then that would give away your illusion. cool :) |

the slightest bit over cropped at the top, and the highlights are a little blown out. |

Nice set-up for this illusion. I like the colors in the glass. However, since this a challenge that allows advanced editing, you could have cleaned up the black background a little better. 8 |

First Impression: Nice colours on the glass. A bit too much on the highlights on the top of the glass pebbles. The top pebble should not have to touch the frame.
Was I fooled? Yes! |

great capture... I would like to see it maybe with some different color rocks... maybe red for better contrast. |

Very nice effect ! I think the crop is a little too tight on the top and the light is a bit too harsh .... But still very good. 7 |

I like the idea, but shadows from the rocks are showing up on your background. |
