Mandyturner. Sorry to see where this ended up, it definitely deserved a much much higher ranking. Don't get discouraged, some of us appreciated the great job you did. Bravo!! |

Love the grainy sepia filter. She looks very vintage. And of course, nobody smiled in portraits then. Good one. |

Nice clean picture. You captured 1890's. Your attention to the details shows, The girl's dress, the basket, to the doll. Great Job |

6 - Good shot to depict the feel/era for the Challenge (in my opinion this shot in a time capsule would do that for future generations). Criticism; whilst you have obviously applied a few effects (sepia?, grain?), if you had taken them a little further and included perhaps softening too, it may have made this a better photograph in my opinion. I think her pose / expression is 'classic' and the dress and doll and basket? (which I would like to see more of) adds the required character to capture this era. She is getting a little 'lost' in front of the tree though, with her dark hair in my opinion. Good effort to capture 'childhood in this era', in my opinion. |

Too cute! Also too clean for 1890! :) I like the tones used in this. |

You aged this photo well. The grain and sepia tone are fitting. Every time I see pictures of people back in the early days, I have always wondered why they never smile and always seem to look glum. Good protrayal. |

to me the grain ruins a wonderful little girls beautiful cute face, why ruin her. Just my thoughts. |

The one thing that keeps this from looking authentic is the girl's dress - the pattern seems much fancier than dresses would have been at the time. Otherwise, nice shot. I like the sepia. |

This is great!! Even remembered to have her scowl at the camera like people did back then. Sticking my nose on my monitor I notice an almost grainy texture to the image also.
Hopefully this will make it to the top three. Good luck and nice job! 9 |

nice choice of sepia toning and contrast to make this pretty pouting model look like a scene from the 1800s |

I had a doll dressed like this in 1960 ;) and oh my goodness I carried a basket in one photo with the favorite doll as well...lovely and serene image, grain fits perfectly.. |

I like this very much...her stare is perfect and the doll is a nice touch. And just a little photo history tidbit...the grain wasn't necessary to portray the era...as a collector of 19th century photography, you might be surprised to learn that many of the images from then were virtually grainless...still a fine entry. |

Great idea! I love the grain and the old style coloring. They never smiled back then. 9 |
