This is a green pepper found in a little garden at my apartment. It's no bigger than six centimeters.

Lightning was done with an abat-jour and a white paper to reflect the light from the other side. Unfortunately, it was a little harsh on the bottom-left, but I think this is a good picture anyway.

There's also a purple version of this picture, but I chose to submit the pepper with it's original color, because it was more appealing, probably due to higher contrast with the black background.

The first thing I want to add here is that I really really like the little purple border. lol
Also, I'm really glad you didn't turn the pepper purple. I like the green pepper on the black background with the purple border. Excellent choice in my opinion.
My only real complaint at all would be the harsh lighting on the bottom. Which you already know about, and yes. It is still a great photo.
The angle and framing/cropping is good. I like how it just kind of hangs there. Right out of the middle of the top. Very visually appealing in my opinion. (but then again, so is the purple border, so what do I know) lol *wink*
I think that focus and clarity are good. I like the detail that you show us in the leaves and the smootheness of the pepper.
Love the background. There are no distracting elements in the solid black background.
Really great job. ~Heather~

Yummy. An anaheim pepper. Bottom light works well here, though it could use to be diffused to keep the lights from overexposing. Nice composition and idea.

Your top lighting is perfect, and the focus is great. I only wish there were no light source at the bottom.

Great composition, focus and colors. The lighting from below is perhaps a little harsh. Well done and good luck.

This composition is wonderful. The overexposed spots detract. Of course after outside of the challenge you can easily correct that by cloning. It's worth it, because this is beautiful and the bg helps to make this stand out beautifully.

Lighting is too harsh and so highlights are blown out.

Don't care much for the lighting. It blows out the bottom of the pepper. The top is great though.=5

The white blown out spots take this from being an excellent shot to attracting attention to the imperfections. I would take it at a lower exposure to get everything in the shot, and then bump up the levels in Photoshop to achieve overall good exposure - or use a soft light source for the image.

Lovely shot. Love the lighting on the leaves, but the pepper has a little too much on it. And why the purple border, why oh why??? 8
