This morning at a thriftstore I purchased an old box full of IBM programming flowchart templates, lettering guides, architectural templates, plumbing diameters, french curves and triangles.
And I was struck with the thought that kids of the future will thing it crazy to have done technical drawing on anything other than a computer. The kids of Today probably already do. Hell. I do.
So, draftsmen of the future, I give you the old school version, found in a box with receipts from the 70's, old sticky lettering, and a 1976 metric conversion slide calculator.
This shot is using macro, hand-held camera, my other hand holding the templates up in the light of my apartment window. Normal sharpen applied after I downsized it, no other adjustments made. |

| I think I might have liked it better without the hand, but still a very cool pic! Awesome idea for the challenge. I love the overlay of the instruments. |

| I used to have some of these, so for me this fits with the challenge. Interesting backlighting. It may have been a bit cliche, but some sort of a tech drawing and pencils would have added more to the era feeling of the image. |
