i want to thank everyone for their comments. this was my first submission and i see that scathing is an adjective that describes some critiques. nonetheless, the unfavorable comments give me the drive to steadily improve my shots and scores.

this is hard to get right - maybe need to try and pick out just one element and simplify the shot ?

I like the design of this photo very much! Good exposure and B/W processing.

nice shot of the sun ray comming through and nice contrast

I usually dont like photographs of power lines, but this one is actually pretty good. Even though you framed one in the center it doesn't really detract from the overall impression I get. Nice contrast and and dof.

The blacks in the power poles could be a little denser, and it's a shame about the foliage at R. Maybe a vertical composition would have been better. Could you have moved to catch more of that great light at UR?

Hmmm... this is actually a very interesting juxtaposition of the rolling grey clouds against the stark, geometric power lines. I can see why you took the photo, but it doesn't appeal to me very much. It's nice work though.

Great sky, great tones. It would be interesting to see a shot right under one of the lines.

Unfortunately the subject matter of this photograph holds no interest for me.

The light from behind the clouds does a good job adding to the mood of this shot. I like the direction the powerlines add to the shot as well.

This shot is technically ok, but unfortunately, I don't find its subject very exciting. Title's cool.

neat subject
tad of noise??

In a shot like this, I feel you need some sort of symmetry. This just seems like you looked up and shot, like not much thought went into composing.
06/05/2002 12:21:00 AM
The sky almost looks electrically lit up.
06/04/2002 06:41:00 PM
Nice weather.

Nce intentional use of something which is usually in the way of a good shot...

You seem to have a little bit of compression showing up in your image. Those lines really need to be crisp and clear to deliver the impact of the image. I like the contrast you've set up here, though.

Neat clouds. I'd move away from those power towers pretty quick before lightning strikes you DOWN!
06/03/2002 05:16:00 PM
Very cool... original.
06/03/2002 03:36:00 PM
Good title, nice composition....very nicely done.
06/03/2002 11:41:00 AM
Very nice capture! The clouds and the dark mood work very well in this photo.. the only improvement I see would be to crop the tree out of the right side of the image... good work!

i love these parallel lines..
