I took the definition out of the dictionary, enlarge it on the copy machine. Then I took a picture of the copy of the definition and a fossil of ferns.

This is a little off the wall, yes, but I would say it definately fits the challenge.
I do think that the lighting is a little low on the fossil. Maybe some kind of either side lighting, or lighting from the top would helps the little ferns to stand out a bit.
The focus seems a little soft as well. Maybe it's just the texture of the rock, but the little ferns don't seem to be very crisp.
The comment that this is a copycat pic is a bit rediculous. What shot ISN'T a copy cat pic? You have put an object in front of words, and that's pretty common, but I see nothing wrong with that.
The angle and framing/cropping I think works for this shot. You were able to get both the definition and the rock in the shot, and show adequate amounts of both.
This doesn't grab my attention and hold it, but it isn't bad either. I think that the rock was probably difficult to get both lighting and focus because of the texture and bumpiness. Still a good interpretation however.

Believe kiwiness did something like this not too long ago. The image isn't interesting, the fossil subject is mainly out of focus and the idea is that of a copycat. 2

:-) Rather desperate attempt to put across your relevance. Like it. The photo - not enough definition on the fossils (lighting?), and the untidy positioning of the text is a pity. Made me smile though.

Nice idea to put the definition in the pic. Guess your not a big Matrix fan. Good pic though..a bit underlighted

Hum, neat idea but I think the fossil in the front is not very attractive in this shot.

I don't mind you having different and wider interpretation. But I found that you push it too hard to make it acceptable. If you wanna do it, do it without a highlightened definition of a photocopied dictionary.

TOO SUBTLE! kidding :) nice interpretation of the challenge. The highlights should eliminate any question about suitability...shouldn't it?

Accurate interpretation of one of the definitions of matrix. I don't really care for the lighting on the fossil. It looks a little washed out, colorless, and flat.
