I was driving along with a friend when I spotted this guy..we had to stop. Took the shots, a little worried about the extreme glare from the sun, and had to shoot between people on a busy sidewalk..then I sat down with him, and we looked over the shots together..I made the point that most were a bit overexposed due to the glare..he responded "don't worry you can do anything on a computer'...
He says he has been at this for 5 years, and it "keeps me out of trouble". I am glad I stopped, and met him.

I think it's a nice story behind the image, and that makes this quite special. I like the texturing here very much. There's almost a symmetry to the subject's pose, between upper and lower torso, and that's very interesting to look at. Finally, there seems to be a bit of rags on the background, to the subject's right hand side. My eyes kept straying to this point, and for a second I kept thinking it was another person peeking a view. Rather than being a distraction, I think this was also one of those subtle things that add to the image. Nice. Going on favorites...

I like this a lot! Take the "ones" out of the title for my preference, but it might just make it different, not necessarily better. Excellent photo, did he pose, or is it candid? 7

I think you will do great! This is an awesome photo. Very few could find a shot so appropriate for the contest.

Angle is somewhat awkward. Very busy. Generally, when you have a lot of diff things to focus on in a pic, you want color rather than black an white.

Nice subject, though. I like how he doesn't have any shoes on.

Great environmental portrait. Tells a story, technically spot on, nicely composed. It won't score well in this challenge but it's worth a 10 in my book.
Did you leaves with shiny shoes?

Are there any shoes in this picture. If not, it's way off the challenge which is a shame.

if this isn't staged, i hope you walked away with shinier shoes.

Nice idea, I would have liked it better though if it had been framed slightly wider since you cut off the low part of the sign and the jar with the toothbrushes. Nice tones but maybe it´s just the screen I am looking at but it could be a little bit sharper. One of the better shots in the challenge, gave it a 7.
