This certainly could have been a very strong entry if you had provided a bit more light (perhaps such that approximately half of the face is illuminated - or at least the eye). The blur is a good idea, but perhaps slightly less would've worked better with voters (one thing you'll find here is that voters generally prefer things to be as sharp as they can be, within reason). |

I like what your trying to do but the blur in combination with 80% of the frame being pure black just makes this not what it could be. Next time try a faster shutter speed or use a tripod |

I'm just taking whichever pic pops up at me, so I'm not viewing titles or thumbnails in advance, and I'm sure there will be many with this "common" title, but your take on it is excellent. I love the sparkle in the eye and the half face lighting. Great use of negative space and shadow. Nicely done. |
