I'd have to agree that the neatimage (or similar effect) looks a bit overdone. By looking at the photo itself, I would not be able to guess the D and L. This is a shot that I feel relys on the title to help it through the challenge. I like the look on the skin, but I think it makes the hair look odd that way. Nice crisp focus on the shirt. I like the texture there. The background is ok, nothing distracting there, although maybe a tad bright near the top. I like where you have placed the boy within the photo. This creates some good negative space, and the fact that there is neg. space in front of him does add appeal. Good job avoiding shadows/bright spots on his face. Overall definately a great shot for the photo album. I would try lightening up on the neatimage just a bit, and maybe editing the hair seperate, so that it doesn't seem so much different than his face. If that makes sense.

face looks pretty plastic - too much noise reduction?

This would me much more approriate if we could see what he was longing for in the background. Right now, all that links this image to the challenge is a title...

The use of Neat Image does look just a wee bit over done but in this case it doesn't really detract from the photo.

I think this is a very cute shot, but too much Neat Image for me. His overly sharp hair and overly smooth skin makes him feel plastic 6

Yikes! Need to chill out on the Neat Image...nice composition, but the kid looks like a plastic doll.

The oversharpening is particularly evident in the shirt. Shooting this from a lower angle and either capturing the reflection in his eye or waiting for a more emotive expression would have improved this shot.

It could have done without the paranthesis. He clearly is longing for something so it dosen't matter so much what that something is.

Good composition. Good focus. Tsck sharp. Apears heavy handed with noise reduction.

Nice title (I'd delete the part in parentheses). His eyes are beautiful, complimenting his shirt. The light flitting over his hair is good, but this still has a tad of a snapshot feel to it.
