Yeah, it's a shoe :-) I hope the topic police don't decide to slam photos that contain only one shoe, and not a complete pair. But this is my intrepretation of the challenge topic.
If you take into account the title of the photo as part of the overall presentation, it can perhaps be perceived as a bit humorous, a shoe being 'divorced' from it's other half of the pair. But if you allow the title to work with the mood set by the processing of the image, it could allow you to dig deeper, and comtemplate the feelings one can get from a divorce/breakup. Then again, maybe you just see a shoe pic with a stupid title that doesn't make sense. :-)
In ps- cropped, tritone, usm, brightness/contrast adj, levels adj., curves adj.
thanks for checking out my pic :-)
Shorewrack
There is a harsh, a strict, cartography
to love we cannot master without grief.
We start our journeys hopeful that the sea
is clearly marked, as buoys mark a reef
that sailors outward bound and full of dreams
might make fair passage — so, to us, it seems
(in love's first flush, when we set sail and leave
our shore behind) that we will always ride
the surge of our desire. We never think
that love's vast sea gives us no place to hide,
nor roof nor shelter to wait out the storm,
nor hearth nor kindling that might keep us warm,
that we two sail alone, and must depend
each on the other; that we must be strong
enough to keep despair and fear at bay
against the coming of the uncertain day,
nor least of all that we might founder too,
shorewrack on the mud, like this abandoned shoe.

This shot emphases the lonliness and desolation of divorce.....the feelings of being all washed up on the shore....and the feeling that you are supposed to be part of a pair. I love the colours also. |

Youy could crop away about a 1/6th off the top and the right hand side imo. I like the gloomy atmosphere you've evoked though. |

I like the pinkish brown tone - it's a bit unexpected. I love the title and the single shoe. The scenery adds to what could be a rather dull subject. Nicely executed. 8 |

Excellent colour cast and I like the composition but the title doesn´t really fit with the image IMHO, at least I don´t get it... 7 from me. |

The shoe actually looks SAD. Creative idea, but I think I would've liked this better in color, or at least maybe black and white instead. But the focus is good, and I'm really liking this photo. |
