Now, that's not really fair - is it? As far as High Contrast, it doesn't really fit the challenge. Having said that, it is a very powerful image with multiple undertones and meanings. Probably would have done well in the Color Portrait challenge.

Great Shot. Perfect Expression. GReat color and Contrast.
Needs a little better lighting on the doll. Nice Job

I like the contrast between the little girl and her dollie, but for me, the background being so similar in color to the her hair, it tones down the overall contrast. Very sweet photo - one to be cherished.

The contrast doesn't have an impact on the picture.

Ok listen, I am almost perfectly sure you did not intend this, but this seems very vulger, and racist. Now seriously, I know you didn't intend it that way, but you have a baby girl (white), holding a black baby (doll), which leaves the doll in subjection, and unless we all live under a rock we seen the News, and it was prodominantly blacks that got the stranded.
So here in the photo you have a white girl holding in subjection a black baby, that in circumstance appears deceased. You have to be very careful in relating photos to something that carries such deep wounds. It may very well be interpreted unconsiously, or subliminally, and you have to consider that in such a deep circumstance. I am very sorry for having to bring that up, but i hope it helps. And I in noway think you intended it that way.

Very meaningful. I personally think this would have looked even better in B&W and using a lighter background. It would make the contrasting colors stand out better. The gold background does not compliment the child's skin tones very well (especially the red hair). and the colors appear a little oversaturated.

The contrast would have been more effective for me if the face of the doll has stuck out more rather than being hidden in the shadows.

I like the contrast of the fair skinned red head with the African American doll. It has a sense of snapshot to me, but considering the title, I'm still giving it an 8

I don't quite get the title link. Focus seems a bit off as the little girl's eyes are a bit blurry. May have been caused by gausian blur(?)
