You got beat up pretty bad. My goodness.
I wish you the very best in your recovery. I can not believe that is actually you in the from "before incident"" photos. You are very attractive and will heal from the your swelling and stuff in no time.

Hi From the Critique Club!
This is a very creative take on the challenge.
First of all, I applaud you for being so brave. If this were me, I wouldn̢۪t even step outside the house let alone post an image in a contest! As women we are conditioned to cover up tiny flaws such as spots with make up. Models on the front of magazines have flawless skin and hair and this is seen as the standard we are judged by, regardless that it is an impossible standard. But here you are staring out at the world unbowed and proudJ
Also, I know that if I walked around in public with a black eye, people would be silently guessing how I got it. They might assume that I was in a violent relationship and would look at me with pity or look away because it makes them uncomfortable. They would write their own script of my life regardless of the truth. Perhaps your image had the same effect on the voters.
Whilst your image is creative, I feel you could have gone a step further and shot it in a more creative way. It looks like you simply held up the camera in front of you and pressed the shutter, and therefore looks like a snapshot. Perhaps a different angle or a more creative point of view would have changed the whole feel of the image. Moody lighting may have helped too, your image looks a little washed out.
On a site that tends to like ‘pretty’ images this was a creative and brave attempt. Good luck in the future.

I don't see much contrast in here, I don't understand your title, I dont like your composition, your model or your lighting. 2. And try to submit larger images. |

Aside from the one normal eye and one black eye (guessing that was your intention for the high contrast?) this lacks the "wow" factor of other entries I've seen in the challenge. |

Ouch!!! It's contrasting something..... Maybe a centered image with a little bit more vivid color. |

Larger, please! (I'm sure you've heard that) I don't really know what to make of this image. The subject is very disturbing - it certainly looks like abuse. I'm definitely not sure what to make of the title in that case - it seems to say that although violence/abuse looks bad it brings something good, and I can't imagine that I got that right. I'm looking forward to hearing the story on this one. |

Ouch! Now that is contrast: normal eye, beat up eye. Hope this person gets better. Image is quite small and colours seem a bit washed out. |

I think this is going to be a controversial photo. |
