Focus and clarity are really good here. I think that you captured a lot of detail in this woman, including tiny moles and muscle flexing. You have done a great job showing us the expression on her face.
I wonder though if she looks angry at you. lol Had she not been looking directly into the camera, I think that opinion would be totally different. I think that she looks annoyed with her eye brows scrunched up like that. However, it could be concentration on what she's doing.
The tones are really great. I think you got nice white, nice blacks, and everything in between. This does actually work well in black and white, cause I think that the background colors probably distracted from the runner.
I tink that the angle and framing/cropping are good. I think that having her to the right is the better choice. Wouldn't work the same if she were in the center, or to the left. If HER angle were different though, then it might need a different crop, but it isn't, so it dont.
A really nice job in my opinion. Super focus for a fast moving subject.

Great job capturing a moving subject like this in such perfect focus. Looks like this could have easily been used in the sports section of the newspaper the next day.

Great action shot! That girls really giving it her all. Very real, although she looks like she's in pain or confused as to why your taking a picture of her.

The expression on her face looks irritated (hey! stop taking pictures of me in my underwear!) rather than the intent I would've expected from the title; I suspect I'm the only one who will be amused by that, though. Strange angle makes the left side (really the right side) of her body seem deformed -- might have been better from a different angle?

This photo intrigues me a little as a good action shot for the most part. I really think the framing is too far right of center. I think it would work for me better if she were running more left to right and not so much forward. The other thing that bothers me about this a little as a matter of personal preference, is the leg on the left. I know she's running and all, but its altogether unnatural looking. I can very well appreciate the extreme clarity of this shot for being a stop action. It really is very stopped. I think put her a little right of center and this shot gets another point from me, and maybe 2.

Great capture of the intensity. You can almost feel her "pain." Great work.

I hate this...no wait...I hate running. (C: Very nice catch, stopped the action, spot on. great tones and light definitely brings out musculature in the legs and the definition.

Wonderful action shot. The determination captured in her expression is very intense, and the composition\DOF implies motion. Great work!

Nice image, you have definately got the skintones just about spot-on. Perfect exposure and with the background out of focus it really highlights the runner. The eye contact is both good and bad in my books, so if this makes any sense I like the interaction and the look of *almost* surprise on her face but at the same time I wonder if it would be more powerful if she had that steely, straight ahead, determination in her eyes that so often represents the complete focus of the athlete.... that's probably about the worst grammar you will ever see! Good stuff though.... I really like the image.

I don't usually go for the sports events, but your photo tells a story of hard work, determination, and hope as the athlete approaches the goal: good composition.
