While exploring the Wawanosh Wetlands, a nature conservation area in my home town of Sarnia, Ontario, I spotted this lovely monarch butterfly resting, perched on a branch, appropriately enough. My only regret is that the top leaves on the branch were cut off slightly.
For this entry, I cropped, resized, then applied automatic colour balance, contrast and saturation, and finally unsharp mask.

Great color and composition. The background really adds to this, except for the tap of sky on the top left--it seems to distract, so I'd probably crop the sky out--just my opinion. |

O.K the butterfly is not in sharp focus as it should be...good use of depth of field...nice |

I like the focus on the branch. I like the color of the butterfly. Nice job. |

Over tight crop at the end of the leaves. Otherwise, effective DOFand pleasing subject matter |
