Challenge: Duotones (Classic Editing)
Camera: Sony DSC-F717
Location: Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
Date: May 23, 2003
Aperture: F/2

Shutter: 1/30 sec.
Galleries: Abstract, Architecture
Date Uploaded: May 25, 2003

This shot was taken at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. This tunnel (work of art) was amazing to view and also interesting to photograph. It looked a mile long and appeared differently as you moved through it.

"The work turns the walls of the tunnel into vessels for conducting light. The walk between the Beck and Law buildings becomes an exploration of color and space."

great shot, interesting lines, the man is in darkness/black and makes it all the more interesting.

This is fantastic! I'm surprised no one's selected it as a fave yet. *added to faves*

Thanks to everyone for thier comments. It is a shot of an extremely interesting exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The person standing in the shot is a lady who works there. She stood very still and yelled at anyone who tried touching the walls.

The tunnel of light looked so different it was interesting to see the results. Also the light changes color, so I also had to decide what color to use.

Very Matrix-y! The colors are striking and the composition interesting, though I feel that there is too much blue on the left side, making it feel a little unbalanced to me. There is also a very pink area running alongside the left side of the black that I find very distracting. Interesting concept.

Ok, you got me stumped. Normally I would say there are more than two colors.
But, your picture really makes me want to focus only on two....
So, how should I vote.....
I will give you a 6 and hope other aren't so harsh like me as far as the color tones.

This almost reminds me of a matrix shot. It's strange and surreal and I like it! I have no idea what it is, but the colors are appealing, the lines are intriguing, and the person in the middle just makes me curious. All good elements to me. The only slight negative I see is the slight purple tinge on the upper/lower left 'wall'

Whoa - where is this? I really like this shot. I wish the person was a little closer to us so he wasn't interfering with the box at the end of the tunnel.

Ok, I see three colors here - black, white, and blue. I'm grading it down a bit to leave room for more traditional 'duotone' interpretations.

That is a very surreal-looking shot. Interesting choice of colour, gives it a very abstract feel, which presumably is the point. I'm curious how you set this up.

This is a perplexing shot. Mainly because I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm looking at! It is a cool prespective, though, and the strong tone works with the composition. Nicely done.

How this was done is beyond me. Duotone? Abstract/sci-fi looking.

this is a very interesting shot. Having a hard time deciding if it is duotoned. I can tell the blues (that can go to a dark blue that looks black, and light blue to almost white), but the magenta showing on the white half squares and the mid left walkway are confusing me. ahhh what the crap, who cares

Fantastic! The lighting has erie contrast
and appears you used levels for the vivid blue? Great asymetric tension.
