This shot falls more in to the snapshot catagory than portrait. To be a portrait we would need to see the "Person" more than the surroundings. It is an incredible tree and I can see why you tried to get the whole thing in the shot. It also looks like a pretty nice day. |

An excellent portrait of a willow tree I must say...but if the center of our attention is to be the person standing in front of it...perhaps a closer crop might have been in order? Not a face only type of crop, but atleast one that is a little closer...I just can't stop looking at that tree...quite wonderful really...but maybe this is your intention? hmmmm...quite intriguing. |

30 steps closer and I'd really like this one. IMO this is a shot of a tree with someone in the way, love the colors and the sharpness, just wish I could see her |

nice sky and lines of the fence, the person in the picture is distracting though. ;-) |

way too much emphasis on the green tinting, nice job on the fence though |

nice colour, but totally missed the point of the challenge. i dont see any detail in the girl. her shirt is all blown out as well. |

nice image but too casual and candid to be a true portrait for me... :) |

Very surreal background - striking. Not really a portrait though (IMO). Still points for good shooting. |

I'm not going to tell you that this is too far away, maybe that was the point in the title. Good looking tree, can't tell anything about the model. |

I love the way the branches are moving. I can't really call this a portrait since I can hardly make out the subject's face. |

Am I looking at the tree or the small person under the tree? |

hehehe..love the title. There is so much going on here and..I am sure you got this comment more than once... the person is a little small in the photo for the challenge portrait. :-) Beautiful landscaping though. Good luck! |

I think this would be a nice picture without the person. This just isn't a portrait! |

Love the tree :) The shot is more like a snapshot than a portrait I think. Also the light road is quite distracting. Possibly a different angle might have worked better. The model is also too centered in the photo. The rule of thirds should have been applied here I believe. |

In a portrait the subject's facial expression is the most important. I can barely see it here. |

Beautiful colors, but it seems like the person is out of place here. |

gosh was a great setting!! for this contest the focus should have been the person. 6 |

For me, this is a nice candid, but I don't know if the tree or the woman is the focus. Perhaps if it was cropped in tighter to the person it would have a greater portrait feel. (for me anyways). |

This is more like a portrait of a tree with a person standing in front of it. |

Great colors, she looks liek she is super-imposed on the image. For a portrait, a closer shot might have been better, but I like the image regardless. Nice job. |

Since the challenge in specifically "portrait" I'd liek your subject to be a little larger in the frame. |

Not much sense of portraiture with this photo. It speaks more "landscape" to me. Hard to score this one highly. |

This is a bit too distant from the subject to have a strong impact. |
