Taken at a country sports fair at Frampton on Severn, Glos, UK. I could get quite close to this bird and took several shots. This is the closest crop I took, but I quite liked the angle so went with it.

PS autolevels and some USM. Spot edited a slight flaw in the eye and darkened the pupil.

Fine lighting and detail -- well-done.

Nice sharp shot, and I like the composition, but would really like to be able to see even the tiniest bit of the iris of the other eye - just being able to see that bit of orange feels a bit odd. The color in the eyes looks a bit oversaturated, but I'm not taking anything away from the shot for that because, of course, it's entirely possible that it is actually the exact color!

Very well done. My guess is some will mark you down because this isn't a person. I hope not.

If the flash wasn't quite so harsh, I would have scored this higher. Very cool closeup though. I like the orange of the eyes.

I would have liked to see both eyes rather than just a part of the other eye. Nice clarity and color.

Very good photo, but didn't feel it was in the spirit of the challenge. Felt like it would be unfare to others to give the score it probably deserved IMO.

There is a harsh flash kick in the owl's eyesand his beak reflection. A flash diffuser would've improved that "harsh" look.

Otherwise a VERY cool portrait of "whooo whooo".

I really like the ideal of staying with human subject for portraits, however just because I dont want to stare at the same genre of subjects the whole challenge Im not gonna hold it against ya. B+. GL.
