Well, as stated, I think this is a bit of a stretch on the challenge, but the way I see it. If you think of baby birds, when you think HOME, then who am I to say differently. Besides, I'm not voting. lol
This is a wonderful shot. i really like the detail in the little fluffy feathers.
I think I'd like to see the beak in focus as well. Right now, what we see is part of the eye, the corner of his mouth, and a small portion of feathers on his 'neck'. I'd like to see a bit more. including the beak, and the entire eye. Imagine this wasn't an easy shot to take without ticking off the mama.
The angle and framing/cropping is great. I like how he's 'in your face'. I like the bit of room you gave him at the top and right of the photo. Not too close, but not showing lots of crap you don't need either.
The lighting looks good for this shot. Not too dark, not too bright. The background works well for this as well. You have blurred it nicely, and I find no distracting elements in the background.
Overall a very nice shot.

Well, he's ugly but this is a lovely photo and should have placed in the top ten.

Good composition and exposure. A little more DOF would help with impact. Enough DOF to include the entire beak and eye I think would be enough.

Great picture with very narrow depth of field, but I think it's stretching it a bit to call this a Home Swee Home picture. Perhaps if you had shown the nest he was staying in, it would be more effective.

nice macro...Challenge ? ...5

Good shot, just doesn't make me think of home.

Wow, great closeup shot. But does this fit the criteria?

i think this is a stretch on the challenge, and probably your score will reflect that reality. But the picture itself is really good, though I would have cropped a bit off the top of the shot and did somethnig different with the borders, they are uneven. Did you use even or odd numbers of pixels to create it? If you use even numbers, you always get even borders. I like the focus on the eye, and the slight out of focus of the beak, it softens the image.

i think this picture would have been better if you would have shown the bird at it's home

This is a beautiful photograph. Unfortunately, IMO, it doesn't meet the challenge =1

Sweeeeet shot.

Very nice detail, subtle colors, well composed and focused. Nice photo. (Skirting the challenge a bit, but with the lack of good photos, it is refreshing).

nice macro, good detail...

Beautiful capture, no doubt deserving a higher rating than it will get here under this (specific) topic. It just does Not say 'Home Sweet Home'. But does it ever break up the monotony of voting on shots of street signs, street signs, street signs!

Wow!! How did you get this close to a baby bird? He's a beauty. The faded background is good. 9

Darling shot! Wonderful detail! The narrow focus is a tiny bit troublesome, but when you're this close.....10 Rob the Swash

Some people may criticise the dof, I think it works very well here. Nice character, very humorous. 8

I'm going to have to grade this down a bit for not being about YOUR home, IMHO. This is of course just my own (perhaps over-narrow) interpretation of the challenge, but I have to draw lines somewhere to make judging easier, and I feel people who tried to shoot their own home deserve a better chance at high scores. Great macro nature shot ... but not for this challenge.

great shot! too bad it doesn't fit the challenge as well as some others . great dof and focus
