I put a white melamine shelf behind the vinca growing in window boxes along our deck. Then I just worked with selective color, sat and desat and the sharpening tool to the entire shot. I have a grid on my camera so I placed the flowers exactly at the intersection points of the horizontal and vertical lines of the thirds matrix. Save for web.

I missed voting on this one Judy....I love it! I think the use of the white, white background is awesome!

I see what sabphoto was mentioning about the pinkish tints from compression. I think I will remember that when doing a save for web next time. You got a few usuable constructive comments.....I am glad I can "tag along"!

Not sure what happend but you seem to have a lot of pink and white blocks from jpg compression in the background, usually from too much compression. Did you save and compress often or just a lot at once. I would recommend doing it in small amounts only after you are done editing, save as something lossless like TIFF till you are done then save for web or compress. Good high key image.

fits challenge but they look a little strange just coming up from the botom. Clear, some leaves a little blown out.

Stark it is... perhaps a tad too stark, some of the petals seem blown out.

Pity about the way to bright background, and white lines aroundflower petals where theu overlap leaves

Nice composition, but I find it over exposed and, yes, stark.

I guess you were going for a high-key image but the petals are not in focus, the leaves are. I also don't think it fits the theme.

Wow this is very different! I love the the color tones and the stark background. Rightly named. Interesting choice of Thirds. I love it.
