You should do more surfing photos Lisa. I love surf shots, and you captured the action nicely here. Get out there and get some more!

This is a tough one in terms of ROTs. Since the surfer is your subject, it seems as if he's more centered than anything else. However, your surf line is on the bottom third. I still like the adction in this image eventhough it's a bit of a tight rope walk in terms of meeting the challenge.

IMO this doesn't meet the challenge requirements of rule of thirds. This photo is VERY MUCH centered. However, it would be a lovely photograph to enter in a more appropriate challenge.

Great action take. By the rule of thirds, the point of interest is where the surf board comes out from the waves which could have been pretty interesting. Only problem is that I had to look harder for that 'coz the interest and focus at first glance is on the surfer's face and body, overshadowing the point of this challenge. Hope that makes sense. Wondering if it wouldn't have been more impactful in keeping with the challenge to re-frame the surfer a little to the third's intersection on the right.

Beautiful capture however i do not see what part of it complys with the rule of thirds. May be cropping from the right would have been ideal letting the mans head be the point on the cross lines.

To me it's really the surfer himself that is the subject, and with that in mind he looks too centered to be following the rule of thirds. I think the placement would have had a bit more impact if it was zoomed out a bit and the subject was in the lower right, facing into the frame instead. As he is here, the line of the surfboard leads your eyes right out of the frame.

While the surf line lies roughly on a 1/3 horizontalline, the subject of the image is centered; does not answer the challenge to "use rule of thirds" Nice action though :-)
