My first comments - the light patches would make text positioning difficult but everything else is really good. Nice image. |

Looks like a bit of vignetting here. I wish I would ever see something like this in nature, however. 7 |

very nice how the white of the background compliments the subject, and the green helps it stand out. very nice. |

This is a lovely shot, especially the focus - I like that the background doesn't intrude, yet you can see details of the branch and feathers that are just incredible. Very appropriate to the magazine, thematically and in tone, as well. |

This would be good on one of those ZooBooks for kids too. Your focus and clarity on the owl are nice, and the background works for the most part. I find the purple glow around the right edge of the branch to be very distracting. Very pretty animal. |

Very nice shot! The birds feather pattern is very busy, but the focus seems very good anyway. The background isn't the greatest, but I'm not going to tell you to move the owl. (Zoo or wild?? Doesn't effect your score, just curious) 9 Rob the Swash |

The background is rather distracting. I can see this being a mag cover. |

I used to love this magazine! This is a great photo for it... The DoF could have been slightly different so you had the whole bird in focus, but thats not imperitive. Was this taken at a zoo? I like how you left space at the top for type. This isn't a WOW photo, but it's still good, one of the better shots for the challenge. |

Wow! Doesn't the owl actually look like wood? Nice texture |

Nice shot, I gave it a 9. Owls are my favorite. Good luck. |
