I just love B&W stuff and this IMO lent itself to that style of photography. It also has sort of a high key element to it and that is also a favorite of mine. I am also fond of simplicity in photos and I hope this comes through.

Did the coffee grounds intended for the left cup revolt? What's with the debris on the otherwise white background? "Casualties of Coffeehouse Warfare" does make a catchy title though.

My coffee maker at home does this sometimes...... Ok image, needs something to spice it up a little, maybe steam coming out of the cups? meets the challenge......5

like the dirty coffee setting! the white background feels a bit too white to me, though. i would be interested in seeing the shadows played up a bit more to give some additional contrast and visual interest.

I'm not sure if the smudges add to this. It gives it more grit, but.... NIce comp and lighting.

This is an interesting idea and a lot of work has gone into it. If the intention of the message is "dirty and used" then your post-production needs to generate that. As it is, the greyscales are smooth and even with no noise. As a result, the message is lost and the image sort of fails to have the impact that is lurking there
