I can just smell the fresh coffee and breakfast being cooked...Mmmm
I like the whole feel of this image. The ladies smile is warm, welcome which is what we want when we go to a small eatery and the toning you chose really brings out the friendly nature of the place. Initially I thought this was taken in the Southwest at a Coffee Shop/Diner but no matter, the feeling of these places is universal. Cheers |

Totally underrated IMNSHO, love this shot's subject, compo, slight desaturation. Amazing the amount of 4s and below, which I'd chalk up to people buzzing through their voting and not really LOOKING. Shame. |

...way underrated...way way WAY underrated...This was honestly one of my top picks, I love the hustle and bustle of this image, truly fantastic. |

I gave this a 9, I like her face blurred. To me it represents the crazy speed barristas sometimes have to work at. |

I love the desaturated look that puts attention on the figures near the doorway, but I am disappointed that the woman's face is blurred. Wouldn't mind so much if it were just her hands that were blurred. |

Beautiful! The light, the tones, the blur of her head...all perfection! Very well done. |

I like the movement, a nice touch considering the fast pace of coffeeshops. 9 |

This shot has a lot of potential. The motion blur in the face of the waitress doesn't work here, although using it to show the busy motion of the hands was a good idea. Overall, a decent shot. |

This has a fun feel to it. The slight blur adds a good sense of movement - without it she would have looked posed. Tough lighting conditions with the darker coffee area vs the well-lit counter area. Did pretty well with it.
Well, my comment time is about up as my 3yr-old just joined me. I asked him what he thought of the "picture" and he said "Looks pretty good" "It's a nice shot".
Like father like son! ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

I really like the desaturation of colors in this photo. It makes the customers in the background stand out better and gives it that coffee shop feel. I don't like, however, how the head and face is blurred on the gal in the foreground. |

One of the better photographs for catching the essence of the coffee shop. I would have like to have seen the woman's face without the motion. |

Well, this shot is a bit hit and miss for me. I like the use of a slow shutterspeed but the fact that her head is motion blurred is "off" for me, if her head would have been still and her hands more moved I would have liked this shot heaps more. I like the composition though and the muted colours are fitting on one hand but on the other the backround with the people are too bright for my taste and draw too much attention. I was going to give this shot a 5 but I liked the "feel" of it and bumped to 6. |

First thought... "Wow." This is a really good shot. The motion blur adds a sense of life to the sot. The desat gives it the feel of a slightly older or more rustic place... All around well done. |

nice motion blur, although it doesn't do her looks any favors :-)
I like the "gritty" feel of the expresso machine. |

You didn't quite freeze the action but I know bad lighting in most coffee shops etc. Your composition although busy tends to be quite interesting. It's nice to see some people actually get out of the house to meet a challenge, working with uncontrolable variables is a lot harder than woking at home or a studio. good on you. |
