Nothing is more inanimate than a piece of stone. When sculpted properly and in the appropriate environment it can become almost as powerful as the model.

It's not personification if the stone was carved to look like a person (or saint in this case). Nice picture though.

Nicely Shot...

According to the challenge, personification occurs when inanimate objects are endowed with human qualities and for me, your photo of this nice sculpture does not fit the description therefore I have given it a low score

Statues and figurines did not meet the challenge in my opinion.

Sorry, I see this sculpture as being a personification by the sculptor, not the photographer. Nice angle, though, and the colour of the rosary beads enhances the serene effect of the photograph by picking up the green tones in the background.

A lovely statue and Iike the addition of color in the rosary, but IMO it does not meet the challenge "Take a photo of something non-human-looking but yet still shows human characteristics or evokes a human feeling." This is definitely human looking.

It's a statue with human attributes...? Sorry, I was marking some images with a basic comment in case I didn't get back to them.

I like your image here - the DOF is nice with the blurred out background and the statue is very clean (neat imaged maybe?). As for how this meets the challenge I still don't see it as I thought the subject was to be of a non-human looking inanimate object. This statue is very much human looking.

I personally think objects or images made to represent a person are not good examples of personification.

I personaly don't feel that statues meet the challenge. A nice religious shot though.

maybe I'm too literal...I thought the contest rules stated, "...non-human-looking but yet still shows human characteristics..."

Its a statue OF a human. That don't not dun count.

the artist made a great statue very human like, which makes it not meet the chalange

Beautifull picture!

Does not meet the challenge, rules state: "Take a photo of something non-human-looking"

In addition to being very human looking, the lighting is a little flat and I would have liked the background to have been less busy (maybe using a longer lens and bigger aperture to minimize the DOF). JMO.
