I really like your subject, just, the sidewalk is crooked so it makes the picture look like it should be straightened. Also, there is a little bit of sun glare in the top left corner. I am by no means a professinal, just my opinion. I still really like the subject!

I see the smirk which I think is reasonable as far as challenge met. The composition leaves a bit to be desired. Why is it crooked? On purpose? if so, to what effect? I think the leaves also detract and would have removed them. The highlight on the hydrant is also unfortunate.

You know, this image actually works well for me. At thumb-nail size I was a little unsure. However, at full size the personification is striking. The angle of the shot was a positive aspect for me - making the hydrant less mechanical and more personal. Colour, framing etc all did a good job. I like it.
