British Birds

Shot through my back window with full optical zoom, telephoto adaptor and the touch of digital zoom that dropping to 3mp gives me. This is still a 1:1 crop to get the subject to fill the frame!

Levels adjustment and slight curves adjustment then USM. Yes it's noisy :-/

Focus feels a bit off - and you should probly clean up the background with some noise reduction software.

Not a very interesting bird. It also blends into the background a bit.

This is really really grainy. I think you blurred the background nicely, however, the focus on the bird is really soft as well. Either that, or the grain has taken over and is effecting quality of the image rather than adding anything to it. It's a nice angle on the bird, and I like how you caught him with something in his mouth.

This would be good if it could have been taken at ISO 50 or 100 to eliminate graininess.

Kind of dark and very grainy

This isn't a bad shot in terms of composition, but it suffers from very poor picture quality from cropping it too much or high ISO. Its noisy and grainy and not terribly sharp. Its a shame because I like the composition.

I have a book on British Bird Photography. It had Twiggy, Julie Christie, Mary Quant, Hayley Mills and a variety of other long-legged Birds of Britain. Unfortunately, I suppose this also qualifies as a British Bird.

This shot is rather grainy, and the bird seems a bit out of focus. I love the detail of the feathers and she has a bright eye.

I wish this were a little brighter. IT seems a little dark for a magazine cover.

Some of the colors here are extremely dull. It looks to me like you cropped quite a bit because there is so much grain. The bird just kind of melts right into the background... it would have been nice if he popped a little. Not extremely interesting, but it fits the theme, and a good catch.
