Took this shot of a Doe while out at a farm. Converted it to antique, then applied a difuse glow to the shot to give it it's mystical feel.

Greetings from the Critique Club

For starters I had to look close but yes there is grain so it meets the challenge.

As for the capture and subject I commend you for such a nice shot.

I will admit my first impression was that the fawns legs glow like an xray. Those legs are just over processed and it hurts the overall image emensly. The glow difuser you used was just to strong for the white legs of the animal.

I think you would have done much better to have just went black and white and added some grain to it as the processing was too much.

I do hope though to see more from you in the future.

I don't know what post-processing you used, but for me, this is a soft photo, especially with the glow and luminescent white around the legs - almost the opposite of how I'm looking at the grain challenge. Nice photo and composition, but for me doesn't meet the challenge criteria as well as other entries.

It's lucky that you caught this image! Parts of it seem very overexposed on my monitor.

Isn't this a baby....a fawn? It glows too much for my liking.

That is serious glow, amazing close up.

Nice diagonal line from the head of the fawn to the tail. Also, the tree trunks provide context. Two things though that I am finding distracting, the legs appear to be over exposed and the crop is a little too tight on the top. Otherwise, the effect really promotes the texture of the animal's fur.

Very good composition and a super cute subject! The white legs of the doe look a little too bright for my own tastes. I think that the grain works well for this image...nicely done.

very nice but the legs of the deer are too bright. the brightness of the legs over powers the rest of the image.6
