I tacked an oak leaf up to a white wall by a window and shot this through a clear glass jar. It made it appear to be under water. I played with the repair and clone tool and "broke" the stem by accident and liked it so much, I left it there.

ah, so it WAS in fact a transparency... you pulled off the watery effect so well that I assumed it was being reflected in water! The illusion (created with transparency) was convincing enough that it didn't even look transparent. Funny how that works, I encountered the same problem with my submission.

Oh man! I love this -- I had no idea it was yours, and I missed it during voting!!!! I can't believe it didn't score higher!

I would have prefered a softer shadow, however, this is a nice subject and wonderful composition with tender shades of white on white that seem almost glacier like. It lends untold charm to the coloration of the leaf.

this looks like a reflection, not an example of transparency...

I don't know what it is through which the leaf is being viewed and, without any frame of reference, the picture looks, on a first glance at least, just to be a blurry leaf.

A little too sparse in the composition. The picture isn't dynamic or exciting at all.

Nice, simple composition. The leaf seems out if it's natural element - I keep thinking it's in a sink or bathtub. I do like the broken stem part though. That area of your photo is my favorite.

Sorry, I don't see the transparency here. A neat image otherwise

Very captivating entry. Really hard to tell if the leaf is floating in water or not. Very appealing shot.10.

ice or water? I think I would have cropped a tad more off the bottom... its pretty that some of the green was still maintained in the leaf..
