Challenge: Shutter Speed (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 5700
Location: Home Studio
Date: Oct 30, 2005
Aperture: 4.6
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Family, Portraiture
Date Uploaded: Nov 1, 2005

My first attempt to setup the home studio. I used what ever was available for lighting and back drop. Lighting was done by standard corner table lamp and blanket was used as a back drop. The model is my daughter - Pooja. I really appreciate her patience and cooperation. It took more than one hour to setup the studio and more than half an hour to take her pictures.

A beautiful little girl, but what does it have to do with shutter speed?

Very nice portrait, beautiful model, but I don't see the connection to shutter speed. Good shot nonetheless.

Nice portrait. I'm not sure where the shutter speed comes into it though.... besides calculating the exposure I suppose....

So...how exactly does shutter speed affect your photograph? It seems you just took a (good) portrait shot, and felt you'd post and see what happens. Next time, try to abide by the guidelines of the challenge for which you are submitting.

It's a nice portrait, but it doesn't seem to fit the "shutter sped" challenge.

Very nice photo but what exactly has to do with this challenge?

Nice portrait. But I can't see how you've used shutter speed here.

I'm not sure this should be in the "shutter" challange, which is why im giving you a low score for an otherwise good picture

Long/short exposure?

Since I can't see any hint of a flash, I'm going to assume this was taken at a slow shutter speed. Below 50 perhaps. Colors are nice. Right side of face may be a tad blurry.

A very nice portrait, but I'm not sure how "shutter speed leads to the main impact" in this photo.

I don't see any effects of your shutter speed.

Beautiful little girl with an endearing smile. Misplaced thread is a distraction.
Don't see how this meets challenge.

Beautiful. I think I'd remove the necklace - it detracts from her face, particularly with all of the busy aspect of her dress. Great skin tones and wonderful sharp focus.

While this is a great portrait, I don't see how it meets the challenge of shutter speed as a major component of the shot. I would rank it much higher in a different competition.

Lovely shot - for Diwali, I'm assuming? However, doesn't seem to involve either fast or slow shutter speed so doesn't fit the category.
