I appreciate the kind words, but personally I don't think this image is all that great. It lacks a little something, especially in the background. I'm, happy with where it placed, I expected at BEST a top 20 and realistically hoped for top 30, which is what I got. There were a LOT of really nice images in this challenge. |

I agree - this should have done way better! A perfect shot imo! |

oh my!!!
I can't believe this one scored 30th!! should be much higher! Exposure in beach stones and water is amazing, even more with that difficult lightning condition.
Edit: Slowly going up, one step at a time. You're up to 29th, it doesn't sound that bad now ;)

this image is really pleasing to me. I'd love to be able to consistently produce the landscapes you do. Everyone of them is soothing. |

Beautiful shot Robert! Love the angles here--the lines from the sky meeting the lines from the surf. |

I guess it was :-) Though 6.4 and 30th ain't bad... I was definitely conscious of wanting to do a portrait orientationt his time, and I was definitely conscious that I'm getting typecast for technicolor, so I went more muted. I bet if I had brightened this up it would have scored better, but this is a pretty straight rendition of the scene, a relatively rare thing for me. I like to play with colors and saturation on these shots as a rule, it pleases me.
Thanks for all the kind comments people :-) |

Beautiful. I like how the rocks in the foreground pick up the colour of the sunset. |

very nice I really like how the contours of the clouds in the sky follow the coast line. It adds a lot of depth. |
