For the record, the title for this shot has nothing to do with the photograph itself. It has more to do with my state of mind when I went out to shoot. And if you don't think the "shadows" are the focus of the shot, then you're not looking at it right. Tilt your head to the left and then bang it against a wall. Now you should be seeing it like I do.
I broke a personal rule with this photo, and that's never to take a pretentious shot of a tombstone and try to pass it off as art. However, I saw it as less of a shot of a tombstone and more of a shot of the shadows on the stone. If it had been a white wall with those shadows I would have been just as happy with the shot.
Setzler - I chose to duotone this shot because the color one sucked. All the green trees in the background really took over and didn't let the contrasts show through. I also thought the use of just light and "shadow" would accentuate the shadow more than the surroundings, but I guess I was wrong. |

just kidding. i really like the blue, and the shadows falling on the stone are very interestingly shaped. |

The shadows don't seem to be the subject of this one. |

Shouldn't it be called 'Death'? Good image though |

Bottom left corner of the headstone is a tad bright, I also would have liked to see the engraving, perhaps. I like the angle of the shot though |

Nice shadows :) I'm curious as to why you chose black and white for this photo... - jmsetzler |

nice thought.. but contrary to life. It is a shadow of life on the dead. If were the shadow of the of the dead faling on something newly born, it would have completed the cycle. life after death! If you menat something different, please share with me. |

A very powerful image, but there's something about the camera angle and composition I don't like. It's hard to say how I would change it. |

The shadows do make an interesting play on the tombstone. |
