The long shadows and yellowish cast were caused by the sun being low on the horizon because of it being late in the day (the start of the show was only a couple hours away). The fire marshall wouldn't permit me to use a flash (and I wasn't about to argue with him.) It was fun to see the stuff up-close and talk to the fireworks crew. And I got a few nice shots of the show (from a regular viewing distance, not at the launch site) a few hours later.

When I first saw this earlier in the week, I could not figure out what they were doing and then I saw the tshirt that said "Fireworks" This is a nice shot of something that you don't see every day (or at least I don't!) The shadow in the foreground takes away from your shot. |
