Just finished giving my husband a haircut and thought this would meet the challenge. The tools belonged to my dad and used on house calls. Used a tripod, macro setting, aperture priority and one overhead light. My dad was a barber for 50 years.

Nice, evocative photo. I love the many little details. Looks slightly unsharp, perhaps from a cheaper camera? Certainly forgiveable with the wonderful composition and splash of color in upper left.

This is the start of a good idea, but the dirty tools are not very pleasing to the eye.

finally a title that's not so obvious it hurts. don't love thelighting in this. looks like you used a natural source behind the pic, which causes all kinds of flares on the brush and anything silver. a flash with a diffuser or a reflected studio light would help. I like the setup though.

A very good concept, but a very cluttered picture... 3 combs and a load of clips may be a bit too much here. The brush adds a nice change in colour and the textures come out really well. Good luck.

Ah - clever. I think this is the first photo I've come across that didn't have to spell it out in the title as to what the B in the entry was, but was obvious from the contents of the photo. The touch of hair on the comb is a nice touch too

Great idea, unfortunately there's los of detail in the bristles and noise.
