There was a fire about a mile from my home a week ago in the late evening. I drove down there to take some photos, and this one turned out so good in my opinion that I had to submit it.

It turns out, this guy on the ladder is actually someone that I work with. He is on the volunteer fire crew, and they had crews from all over there that night. So I gave him copies of all of the photos for his crew, and a 16x20 of this for him.

For pp, I adjusted curves, color balance, brightness/contrast and a little spot editing.

This is a great challenge. The placement of the subject could be moved to the left just a bit. The warm colors really make this image sing ;) I love orange BTW :)

Wow. What a capture. Was there any way to get the structure that was on fire in the shot at all?

Great shot! Way to capture the moment. My only nitpick is how centered the fireman is.

great shot, with good dramatic appeal. The 'monochromatic' nature of it is strong. I just would have preferred the focal point to be more off centre.

This is a very dramatic shot--
I love the compostion, my only complaint is I think your flash created some ugly reflections on the suit.. Still I like this photo-- 8

A nice capture, a closer crop might have added.
